Impact

Since 2009, we've given visibility to research and personal accounts demonstrating how pornography can negatively impact individuals, relationships, and society. Through this grassroots movement, millions of people have found hope and freedom. We couldn't do this without Fighters like you!

Dear FTND, I just wanted to say thank you. I am a normal tenth-grade girl who was told my whole life that porn was “gross and dirty.” I wanted to understand outside of my own context why it was “bad.” Your website has provided me with the information I needed to justify why I took my stand against pornography. In English class, I was able to speak for 6 minutes about something; I chose the dangers of porn. It wasn’t easy, but my heart breaks for this generation of boys and girls who don’t understand why they can’t seem to have functional relationships. I wanted to do something about it. I have had multiple conversations after my speech, and hope that at least one person began to think about the potential consequences of porn. This hasn’t been easy to talk about it, but having the right information definitely made it easier. Thank you.

As a teen, I watched porn all the way until I became pregnant with my first kid. My mother raised us to be aware of addiction and how it sneaks up on you and takes over your life. I knew there was something wrong with the fact that I always resorted back to watching porn. The fact that I couldn’t stop permanently wasn’t “normal,” so I went searching for research on the subject. That’s when I stumbled upon this huge movement called Fight the New Drug.

Once I read the stats on how people are sex trafficked for porn, and how porn is impacting our culture and love, I was devastated that I had been supporting. It pushed me to learn more, and that’s when I learned how porn affects our brains and pulls us into the addiction. I made it my mission to never let my porn addiction affect me again and to reach out to as many people as possible to educate and help others with their addiction to porn. I can PROUDLY say I have not watched porn in two years!! I am proud to be porn-free!

I didn’t realize how badly porn affected me until I stopped watching it completely a few months ago. Now I feel like a completely different woman. Lighter, happier, free. I control my sexuality, not the other way around. I use that energy for creativity.

Four years ago, I messaged you asking for help with my addiction. I was a high school student, terrified by the horrible addiction that had begun to eat away at my life. I’m 3 months free from porn. It may not seem like much, but I feel like a new person. I’m so grateful to you and I’m so thankful that I’m finally free. Thank you for everything you guys do!

Hey y’all. I can’t believe it’s been three years since I found y’all. Not gonna lie, I had a pretty heavy relapse with my porn addiction these past few months. But as of Tuesday of this week, I am determined to start over and take active change. And once again, I couldn’t have done it without y’all.

Hello, I’ve been a follower for a few months, and this whole time, I’ve struggled with quitting porn, and I’ve noticed its effects on my mental health. I recently purchased some items from your store as reminders and motivations to quit. I just want to say you guys have been an encouragement in my life and have helped me understand that I am not alone in this.

I want to give the people who created Fight the New Drug a million hugs. They’ve spoken out on the dangers and damage of pornography in a way our society so desperately needed. Not to mention, they fight against human trafficking. Thank you!

I’m currently struggling with porn addiction. Watching Brain, Heart, World has taught me a lot about myself. I wish this information was widespread and taught to everyone, I never realized how dangerous porn is. Thank you for all the people doing the research and for the people who made this docuseries.

I realized today that it’s been about four years since I heard about FTND. That’s around 1,460 days porn freeeeeeee! I just have to say that I’m so grateful for the education and power your organization has given me. Before learning about FTND, I had attempted to stop turning to porn for about eight years, with no success. The education and community are what empowered me. I just wanted to share this, and thank each of you for what you do for the movement. Freakin’ love each of you!

I want to thank you for giving me the resources and courage to speak to my two sons (aged 13 and 15) about the harmful effects of pornography and exploitation. We had a great conversation that went way beyond my wildest expectations. Thank you again for the amazing work you do to highlight and support parents.

Hi, I just want to say thank you for what you do. I am a 9th-grade teacher, and your docuseries helped me show my students the harm of porn, which, sadly, has touched some of their lives. Please continue working on this, you are making a big difference in the world.

“The Brain” was amazing! The studies made so much sense and I can really understand the negative effects of porn and how it changes the brain. This was very informative.

As a recovering porn addict myself, this podcast has helped me further understand myself and it always helps when you can relate to someone who has had the struggle themselves.
