FIGHTER

– OF THE –

YEAR

We know we have the best Fighters in the world, so in 2017, we started an annual tradition of recognizing our supporters that join us in our mission to spread the movement with our “Fighter of the Year” award. To keep the tradition going, we need your help! Have you or someone you know gone above and beyond to raise awareness on the harmful effects of pornography? If so, fill out this short survey to help us gather nominations for our next Fighter of the Year!

*The Fighter of The Year winner can choose to accept or refuse a free screening of the Brain, Heart, World documentary at their discretion. Winners who accept a free documentary screening will help Fight the New Drug coordinate this event in their community, and the location, date, and time of the screening will be determined with their input. This free documentary screening is intended to be a live event and can’t be substituted for a virtual screening.

Our Fighters continue to make an impact in this movement for love.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect individuals and communities around the world, but that hasn’t stopped our Fighters from continuing to support and spread this movement. The global pandemic, social distancing measures and other restrictions have continued to create new challenges in spreading this movement within our communities. For this reason, rather than awarding an individual as the 2021 Fighter of the Year, we recognize and thank all of the Fighters who continued to make an effort—whether by educating themselves or someone else—to spread this movement during 2021. We’re grateful for the continued support from our global community of Fighters.

Thank you, Fighters, for continually making an impact in this movement for love.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognize that 2020 was a difficult year for Fighters across the globe. Social distancing measures and other restrictions brought on by the pandemic presented new challenges in spreading this movement within our communities. For this reason, rather than awarding an individual as the 2020 Fighter of the Year, we recognize and thank all of the Fighters who continued to make an effort—whether by educating themselves or someone else—to spread this movement during 2020. We’re grateful for the continued support from our global community of Fighters.

2019 FIGHTER OF THE YEAR
NAME

Annie

LOCATION

Ohio, USA

Meet Annie, our 2019 Fighter of the Year.

Annie has one of the coolest and most impactful backstories of getting involved with our organization that we’ve encountered to date. A junior in college, Annie has done incredible things on her campus to start important conversations about the harms of porn and take away the stigma of struggling with it. Watch this video to get inspired and see how this Fighter is making the movement famous in her community.

MORE ABOUT ANNIE

“I have this opportunity that people are going to look at me, and I can wear these tee shirts that have these messages that I’m super passionate about. And I think that’s really cool.”

2018 FIGHTER OF THE YEAR
NAME

Carmel and Lynae

LOCATION

Wisconsin, USA

Meet the Fighters of the Year who are a package deal!

A story that started with a porn performer being paid to speak to university students at University of Wisconsin La Crosse ended with a campus conversation about the harms of porn, hugely in part thanks to twin Fighters Lynae and Carmel. They have been involved with this global movement for love for the last few years, and their shared boldness for shining light on the harms of porn and its harms to consumers and ties to sexual exploitation has measurably impacted a community.

We’re excited and honored to award these sisters with our 2018 Fighter of the Year award, and look forward to the awareness they’ll continue to raise on behalf of this movement for real love.

MORE ABOUT CARMEL AND LYNAE

“Porn affects our brain, heart, and society as a whole. We both wanted to take a stand against porn and fight for love! Lynae and I want people to have happy, healthy, honest relationships. People deserve to know the truth about porn.”
